The Covert Lead Clip offers a truly adjustable and consistent lead release, controlled by the position of the Covert Tail Rubber. Covert Lead Clips are constructed using Gardner Tackle's unique compact design and are the smallest and most discreet size 8 swivel safety lead arrangement available.
They are designed so that a size 8 swivel snaps securely into place inside the front barrel of the lead clip.
During the design and subsequent testing phase it became apparent that having a grooved lead retention arm combined with a smooth rod (for the Tail Rubber to rest on) actually allowed anglers to fine tune the pressure/force needed to eject the lead from the clip.
Our tests indicated that lead clips with fully fluted barrels may not release the lead when needed because they created too much grip when the tail rubber was pressed.
The Covert Lead Clip system has been further refined by the improvements we've made to the design of the dedicated Covert Tail Rubbers.
No other lead clip offers such consistent and controlled lead retention/ejection; and this makes the Covert Lead an invaluable tool for anglers fishing a wide range of venues.
Covert Lead Clips are available in a range of Low-viz camo colors, including Solid or C-Thru Green & Brown, plus a C-Thru Silt color to match the rest of the Covert range.
