These fast-sinking Covert Tungsten Chod Beads are designed to be used as stop beads for weighted helicopters/chod rigs, setting the hooklink's movement on the main line or leader. Covert Tungsten Chod Beads are supplied on wire sprigs for easy threading onto the main line or leader.
These beads have a soft, rubbery texture and offer just the right amount of grip to hold them in place on the line or hooklink, so there's no need to use a 0.5mm piece of silicone to act as a "stop." The Chod Bead can simply be slid into place, allowing you to compensate for the nature of the lake bed or any weeds present.
The tapered profile of the hole ensures that the bead passes cleanly over any knot in the terminal tackle, ensuring that choppers built with this bead allow the terminal tackle to separate from the terminal tackle in the event of a cut.
They potentially improve uniform presentation in several ways. For example, using them as stop beads on a chod rig allows you to easily balance the final rig so that the rig sits gently on the point and create improved hooking potential by using a pair placed close together (instead of the traditional chod running).
The High Bore version can also be threaded onto the Chod hook section itself, then pushed down over the swivel (or Kwik Lok) as a substitute for tungsten putty. This is particularly useful if the water you're fishing contains crayfish.
Covert Tungsten Chod Beads are made from the densest tungsten polymer compound available.
Tungsten Chod Beads are available in 2 different holes:
Low Bore: They have a 0.20mm internal bore designed for use on monofilament.
High Bore: They have a 0.50mm internal bore for use with stripped terminals, leadcore and lead-free terminals.
Each Chod Bead is 7mm x 4mm. 12 beads per pack (strung on wire sprigs).
*Always moisten before carefully sliding these Chod Beads onto your chosen line or leader to maintain the correct level of hold. If you want a slightly less hold, move the bead up and down the link, line, or leader to slightly open the hole.
