The ocean world championships introduced us to a revolutionary pyramid that offers excellent resistance to currents, yet generates significantly less drag during the retrieve than traditional pyramids. Eugenio Ucci modified the Brazilian and French pyramids and created a perfect blend of resistance and hydrodynamics: a long shaft to facilitate retrieve while reducing drag, lateral grooves to stabilize flight even in strong headwinds, and a flattened profile to increase resistance to lateral currents. Thanks to these features, it's possible to use thinner lines on the spool, thus reducing drag in lateral currents.
