The Gardner Point Doctor is a very simple to use hook sharpening tool, perfect for keeping hook points sticky and sharp.
Since the introduction of the Point Dr, everyone we have shown the Point Doctor to has agreed that one of its biggest advantages is that it is “idiot proof”. This is due to the unique abrasive rubber compound that is forgiving, meaning it is easy to control, preventing you from applying too much pressure to the point, tipping it over and ruining the hook.
Each pass of the Point Doctor gently removes a thin layer of plated or coated finish from the surface of the hook, helping to improve and strengthen the hook point. Not only will a sharper hook turn more fish into bank fish, but a sharper point will also ensure the hook penetrates deeper and easier. This will of course mean you will catch more fish!
The "Point Dr" is not suitable for totally reworking hook points, but it is perfect for improving points that are "almost" sticky and sharp.
*Tip: If one of the faces of your Point Doctor gets scratched or clogged, simply carefully cut away a couple of millimeters of that surface and that new abrasive surface will be as good as new!
